The revival of a 123-year-old watch brand
This is the revival of a watch brand with 123 years of history: a great-great-great-grandson relaunching his family's respected but dormant name in German-made luxury men's watches.
For this crucial first launch we aimed the brand and marketing at watch lovers and enthusiasts, focusing on craftsmanship, design and identity to prove both the quality of the watches and their value as an investment.
Luxury watches are a fiercely competitive market. Our job was to put forward the one thing no competitor can buy, 123 years of family watchmaking. Heritage alone doesn't sell a watch, so the visuals and messaging had to modernise the brand while honouring its history.
Boutique luxury watches are mostly bought by enthusiasts as collector's pieces or investments. Entry-level luxury is hard to introduce too, since most buyers only know names like Rolex and Breitling.
We aimed the launch squarely at enthusiasts and invited them to see the proof for themselves: the meticulous craftsmanship and design inside every Eugen Wegner watch.
Eugen Wegner was 100% funded on Kickstarter, raising USD 250K in just 29 days. New investors have since come on board, with further expansion of the brand planned.
